Enterprise Benefits
- Helps enable low energy bills to help reduce operating costs
- Helps enable differentiated and competitive solutions
- Helps enable smaller, sleeker form factors that take up less space in offices and cubicles and are designed to operate quietly
Cool 'N' Quiet™ 2.0 Technology
With the next generation of award-winning power saving technology, Cool'n'Quiet™ 2.0 Technology reduces heat and noise so you can experience amazing performance without distraction. Combined with core enhancements, included in the AMD Phenom™ processor, that can improve overall power savings, deliver seamless multitasking and energy efficiency. Work, play, talk, and share on a PC that's seen, not heard.
New features:
- Independent Dynamic Core Technology- Helps users get more efficient performance by dynamically adjusting individual core frequencies as required by utilization needs
- Dual Dynamic Power Management™ - Helps improve platform efficiency by providing full-speed memory performance while enabling decreased system power consumption.
- AMD CoolCore™ Technology - Helps users get more efficient performance by dynamically activating or turning off parts of the processor.
- AMD Wideband Frequency Control - Allows the processor to respond more precisely to user demands, maximizing performance to deliver a better PC user experience.
- Multi-Point Thermal Control - Prevents processor from creating too much heat and enables a cooler, quieter PC experience
Cool 'N' Quiet™ 3.0 Technology
Capitalizing on AMD's leadership in energy efficiency with innovations such as, AMD Cool'n'Quiet™ 3.0 Technology, AMD Phenom™ II processors give you performance when you need it and save power when you don't.
In addition to the features included with Cool'n'Quiet 2.0 Technology, the following new features have been added:
- AMD Smart Fetch Technology - Fewer processing cycles are required to locate information since data storage is streamlined and stored in the shared L3 cache. Provides CPU power savings by maintaining processor sleep states and sharing cached data between cores.
- 45 nm Process Technology with Immersion Lithography - puts more transistors in less space and delivers better processor performance while using less power.
AMD's Energy Efficient processors offer technology partners energy-efficient options to create small, quiet and attractive solutions so that enterprises and consumers alike have more pleasant computing experiences. By using less electricity, energy efficient AMD desktop processors can lead to lower energy consumption, contributing to an improved global environment.
Get More with Less Power.
Energy-efficient AMD processors with Cool'n'Quiet™ Technology enable smaller, sleeker, more energy-efficient PC's. In March 2005, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded Cool'n'Quiet Technology special recognition for the advancement of energy-efficient computer technologies. AMD expects that systems built using energy-efficient AMD desktop processors can meet, and in many instances, exceed the new system requirements from the EPA's ENERGY STAR Version 4 computer specification, effective July 20, 2007.

from wikipedia....
Cool'n'Quiet is a CPU speed throttling and power saving technology introduced by AMD with their Athlon 64 processor line. It works by reducing the processor's clock rate and voltage when the processor is idle. The aim of this technology is to reduce overall power consumption and lower heat generation, allowing for slower (thus quieter) cooling fan operation. The objectives of cooler and quieter result in the name Cool'n'Quiet. The technology is similar to Intel's SpeedStep and AMD's own PowerNow!, which were developed with the aim of increasing laptop battery life by reducing power consumption.
Due to their different usage; Cool'n'Quiet refers to desktop and server chips, while PowerNow! is used for mobile chips — the technologies are similar, but not exactly equivalent. This technology was also introduced on "e-stepping" Opterons, however it is called Optimized Power Management, which is essentially a re-tooled Cool'n'Quiet scheme designed to work with registered memory.
Cool'n'Quiet is fully supported in Linux from 2.6.18 and FreeBSD from 6.0-CURRENT onward (using the powernow-k8 driver).[1][2] Unlike Windows XP, Windows Vista only supports Cool'n'Quiet on motherboards that support ACPI 2.0 or later. In earlier versions of Windows processor drivers / Cool'n'Quiet software needs to be installed.[3]
senang citer......amd c & q tech ni ialah satu features yg amd offer utk processor amd yg bertujuan utk jimat power consumption, kalo satu proces tu perlukan byk power, speed processor akan naik....when in idle condition, kalo spec proc 2.0ghz, when idle speed tu akan turun ker 800MHZ contoh nyer utk jimat kan power....c n q ni amat praktikal utk laptop...

Attn.: The HR Manager,
Dear Sir / Madam,
Application for Post Of XXXXX
I refer to your full page ad in the newspaper ad today, which probably cost a whole lot of money, from which i deduced that you guys are rich and can pay me a lot to do less than my current job. Well, okay, my current job isn’t all that bad, but i screwed up something and would rather leave before more people find out about that fiasco. My company is very good at ‘pointing fingers’, or whatever cool new management buzzword they use to call it. You know my company, your direct competitor, which i will gladly bring all their secrets with me to your company. The address of my company is clearly printed on the envelope containing this letter.
Anyways, please call me for an interview, i haven’t worn my clean shoes and tie for awhile, since my last interview, in fact.
Attached is my resume, feel free to read it. Let me tell you first i can’t remember half of the stuff there, it’s been awhile, i tell ya. In fact i’m not sure if i actually DID most of those stuff, after such a long time, the line between white lies of a padded resume and reality blurs together. Anyway, let’s just assume i did all those stuff and know all that i say i know, ‘k?
Please also keep the interview short - 10 minutes max. I can only lie and keep a straight face that long before i… well, anyway.
Call me. Let’s do lunch.
Regards,
Job Applicant.
